World Bee Day
Today, our school welcomed the Minister of State for Heritage & Biodiversity, Christopher O'Sullivan along with Senator Alison Comyn and Erin McGreehan TD.
π They began their visit with the Infants who were eager to tell them all about nature in their school.
π Next they visited our budding actors where they were treated to a screening of "Meadow Magic". This was followed by a riveting questions and answers session. They also learned about local bee keeping and some local honey was presented to Mr. O'Sullivan. π―
π The Senior room informed the Minister of their recent Energize programme where they learned about the dangers of carbon monoxide. There was more interesting questions and answers time here. π
πͺ Finally, the Green School's Committee brought our visitors on a trail around the school. Each stop was an opportunity for the Committee members to explain all the hard work they had undertaken.
πΏ The tour ended with the Committee planting a Rowan tree in memory of today's visit. We then presented Mr. O'Sullivan with an Oak tree as a token of our appreciation. π³
